A simple direct cremation by Aura in Cardiff works like this: your loved one, inside their coffin, will be laid upon the catafalque inside the crematorium chapel, after their arrival there in a private ambulance. As they are carried into the chapel and placed inside, a song that was dear to them in life can play. A respectful crematorium official will then offer a few words in their honour. Shortly after this they will be cremated.
Aura is proud of the fact that its direct cremation services are a low-cost alternative to what else is out there. In fact, according to SunLife, the average cost of a funeral last year in the UK was £4,141, which means that our starting price of £1,095 is less than half of that figure. We hope this makes the burden a little lighter for families already dealing with the difficulty of grieving a loved one.
With Aura (unlike many other options) you are perfectly able to attend the direct cremation ceremony of a loved one in Cardiff if you so wish. Our attended options start at £1,895, and can last between 15 and 45 minutes. Families will have the chance to work with either a religious minister or a non-religious celebrant (whom we can assist them in finding), who will design and lead a ceremony around the life of the person who has died.
When it falls to us to organise the funeral of a loved one, we quickly learn how much paperwork is involved. With a cremation, certain documentation needs to be in order before it can legally go ahead. We want to firmly reassure you that our committed Angel Team is there to make sure that all of the admin will be taken care of, and they will support you as much or as little as you need to get everything together.
