Aura provides a service that was founded not just on the idea of care, but on the kind of dedication and respect that we’d wish for our own family. It is our promise to extend that same level of person-centred care to every family we serve, treating each individual as one of our own.
We want to assure you that our commitment to providing respectful and dignified services remains unwavering. This commitment is made possible through our collaboration with reputable suppliers and partners; all of whom are members of the National Association of Funeral Directors (NAFD) or The National Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF), and share our dedication to providing dignified and respectful services.
As a company, we strongly support the regulation of funeral directors in England and Wales, and we proudly stand by the exceptional care provided by our Aura Angels, and the dignity that is found in every detail of our service.
Our Aura Angel team is your point of contact to make arrangements for your loved one. They are more than just coordinators; they are compassionate listeners, offering guidance and support whenever you need them. Beyond this, our Angels work diligently behind the scenes to ensure every detail is attended to and every standard not only met, but surpassed.
Their commitment to delivering unparalleled care stems from a deep, sincere desire to do so – because for them, any other way simply doesn’t exist. Each Angel is deeply connected to the families they support, driven by genuine care and a commitment to excellence in a service that truly sets them apart.
What’s more, members of our Angel team have contributed to published research regarding the care of a person after death, and continually review evidence bases to inform Aura’s best practice.
From the moment an individual enters our care, we follow stringent identification processes to ensure every step is handled with respect and precision. This includes thorough checks before cremation and meticulous tracking of all paperwork, ensuring the identity of the person in our care is verified throughout. After the cremation has taken place, we ensure that from the time the individual’s ashes are collected from the crematorium they are documented and accounted for, and their location is known at all times, until the time they are returned home. This rigorous process is part of our promise to you, ensuring that your loved one is cared for with dignity and respect through every step.
Unlike many other providers, we don’t use one centralised location to look after the individuals in our care. Each one is cared for in one of our state-of-the-art, local care centres across the country. Whilst we can’t guarantee where your loved one will be cared for, we will always endeavour to keep you close to home. The mortuary facilities at our care centres have been purpose-built and invested in heavily. These centres are not open to the public, in order to maintain the privacy of the people that we’re caring for. They are only accessible to our trained experts, and they offer the best available care and technology.
On 29 July 2022, it became a legal requirement for all prepaid funeral plan providers to be authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). This means all providers, such as Aura, are required to have stringent procedures in place to ensure that your money is protected. When a prepaid funeral plan is purchased, your money is placed into a secure trust that is managed by trustees who are independent from Aura. In the unlikely event that Aura is unable to deliver the service you have paid for, we will either transfer your plan to an alternative provider or issue a full refund. As part of FCA regulation, our prepaid funeral plans are also protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) for an added layer of protection. We understand the importance of trust and integrity in our work, especially during such difficult times, and are here to support anyone in need with compassion and professionalism. If you have any questions about the way that we work, or would like to find out more about our processes, please do not hesitate to get in touch. We are here to help.
