If you're looking for a way to secure your legacy on your own terms, then yes, a prepaid funeral plan could be right for you. This way, you can give yourself the gift of peace of mind knowing that everything will unfold as you want it to, while your family can focus on grieving your loss rather than worrying about paying for and planning your funeral. Another benefit of funeral plans is that they let you pay for everything in advance at today's prices, protecting you and your family from future price rises. You can also gain control of the payment schedule, as Aura won't charge you extra; whether you pay all up front in one go, or in 12-24 instalments, the final price will always be the same. We'd be very pleased to help you figure out your options; why not give us a call to see how we can help you?
It might provide a bit of relief to learn that Aura's funeral plans could be less than half the price of the average UK funeral cost. According to information found in the SunLife Cost of Dying Report 2024, the average cost of a funeral in the UK is ~£4,141, where our plans start at £1,695. We know that funeral costs are among the most pressing concerns of those interested in getting a plan together, so we hope that this news is welcome. We are also happy to share that our prices are constant, no matter whether you're in Thirsk, or elsewhere in mainland Britain.
You are free to cancel or amend your plan for any reason as you see fit, and we want to make the process as easy as possible for you. We won't charge you an admin fee or penalise you should you find that you need to change your mind and cancel your plan, or make any amendments to it, whether upgrading or downgrading. You'll only have to pay the cost difference between plans if you are moving from a smaller to a bigger one. We know that life can step in and force us to change our path at short notice, and we want to be understanding about that, not unforgiving. If you'd like to cancel or change an existing plan of yours, or simply to learn more, we'd be very glad to hear from you over the phone.
When you're setting up your plan, we'll ask you to pick a close friend or someone in your family to be your responsible person. They'll be our point of contact when the time comes to activate your plan. It's their task to notify us of your passing, and we will have already shared a handy guide with them that explains everything they need to do. Our job is to help them with legal matters and coordinate the details of your ceremony. You can rest assured that we will bring you seamlessly into our care, and make sure that your wishes are honoured to the letter.
Our backstory is an immense source of strength to us and one which we feel sets us apart from the rest. We were founded by Paul Jameson in 2019, around two years after he was told that he had motor neurone disease. He was inspired to found Aura through his experience with the disease when he realised that there was nothing on the market that could put things in place for his family. In that way, Aura is his gift to them, and this means that you can be sure you will receive the kind of service that Paul would want for his own family. He continues to support Aura today alongside his son, Dave (our CEO) and a family friend, Ben. Good service is in our DNA.
