You will select a close friend or loved one to be your Nominated Representative when you buy an Aura funeral plan in Glasgow. When you pass away, they will let us know immediately, and we will put your plan into action, using the money you’ve set aside with us to pay for everything.
Aura’s funeral plans start at less than half of the average price of a funeral in the UK last year, according to SunLife. You could arrange one with us from £1,595. For more information about our prices, call us at 0800 808 5723 or head to our Funeral Plan page.
We are happy to say that, unlike many providers, we offer the option to families to attend the funeral of a loved one if they’d like to. The main difference between an attended and unattended direct cremation ceremony is that, with the former, mourners are present in order to witness a service which is led by a religious minister or a celebrant. All other elements are the same. Learn more about attended direct cremations here.
There is certain required documentation before a cremation can take place, but please don’t worry about it. One of the main jobs of our Angel team in supporting your family through the organisation process is to make sure that all the legal paperwork is in order when it needs to be. They are there to provide exactly the right amount of support to your family, when they need it most.
From the moment your plan is put into action to the moment when the cremation is finished, we will work as diligently as possible to make sure everything goes smoothly. There are a number of elements we need to have in place before a cremation in Glasgow can be arranged, so it’s difficult to give an exact timeframe. However, we will make sure your family is updated every step of the way. The cremation process itself will take between one and three hours to complete once initiated.
