If you're searching for something that will help you to own your end-of-life planning, then a prepaid funeral plan could help you to meet that objective. You can give yourself the gift of peace of mind knowing that everything will happen exactly as you decide, while your loved ones will get the space they need to grieve your loss rather than worrying about paying for and planning your funeral. Another key advantage that comes with funeral plans is that they let you keep today's prices, ensuring that you and your family are safe from future price rises. You can also control the payment schedule, as Aura won't charge you extra; whether you pay in a lump sum or over 12-24 months, the end cost will always be the same. If you'd like our help in working out your options, we'd be more than happy to assist you in designing a plan that meets your needs at a price that works for you.
At Aura, we know how heavily the stress of paying for a funeral can weigh, even at the best of times. However, we hope that it's some comfort to know that Aura's funeral plans begin at a rate that could be less than half of the average cost of a UK funeral, according to the SunLife Cost of Dying Report 2024. Our plans start at £1,695, but the average cost of a funeral in the UK is thought to be £4,141 by SunLife, making a noticeable difference to your outgoings. Did you know that our plans are also all-inclusive, with no extra costs for things like oversized / 'bariatric' coffins, doctor's fees, or the removal of medical devices prior to cremation?
Peace of mind with our funeral plans isn't just about setting your own mind at ease that your wishes are recorded, or that your family is spared from the stress of paying and organising on your behalf -- it's also about flexibility. You have the ability to take things in a different direction in the future if you need to. Cancel or edit your plan for any reason and there will be no admin fee or penalty, and, when cancelling, we'll easily sort out a full refund for you. You'll only need to pay the difference if you upgrade your plan to a larger one. Pick up the phone and call us if you have any questions about that, or if you need to cancel or amend anything; we'd be happy to hear from you.
One of the main advantages of buying a funeral plan is that you can rest knowing that your family and loved ones will not be left to their own devices when the time comes. One of the first things we ask you to do upon purchase is to pick someone close to you to act as your nominated representative. We will then provide them with a guide which will explain everything they need to do, starting with notifying us of your passing. At that point, it's our job to swiftly bring you into our care and to support your loved one with the legal paperwork. We will also help them to organise the logistics of your ceremony if there are to be guests. You can be sure that your wishes will be followed to the letter and your family will be guided throughout.
Aura's story as a company founded and run by family is something that gives all of us strength and makes us stand out. Paul Jameson founded Aura with his son, Dave (our CEO) and a family friend called Ben back in 2019. He had the vision to do this after his experience with motor neurone disease back in 2017 when he realised that there weren't any legacy-planning tools out there that could help him put things in place for his family. Now you get the chance to use these tools yourself, and to benefit from the kind of customer care that Paul would want for himself and his own family. He still supports Dave and Ben in the running of the company today, so we can truly say that a family philosophy is in our DNA.
