Many people worry about the lack of control they might have over the way their funeral ceremony will play out, but a prepaid funeral plan could give you the sense of ownership you are looking for. One of the most important advantages offered to you by a funeral plan is the way it lets you precisely record your wishes for your funeral and pay for them in advance. This way, you can be sure that everything will unfold exactly as you want it to, and that nobody else will need to step in to pay or decide anything on your behalf. When you buy one with Aura, your money is deposited in a secure trust managed by an independent board of trustees, meaning that your money will be safe and ready to use when the time comes. It's up to you whether you pay all in one go or over 12-24 months -- the end price is the same in any case. You will secure today's prices for your funeral, protecting your loved ones from potential future price increases, even if your plan is not activated for a long time after purchase. If you are interested in benefitting from these advantages, we would be delighted to receive your call.
Aura is glad to share that our funeral plans begin at less than half of the average UK funeral cost found in the SunLife Cost of Dying Report 2024. Our starting price is £1,695, next to SunLife's £4,141. We know that funeral costs can bring a lot of stress and pressure into family life, so we hope that this news brings a bit of relief. In addition to this, the cost of our plans includes everything, which isn't always found with other providers. There will be no further costs for you or your family when your plan is activated for things like oversized coffins, or for urgent collection.
Plans can change in life without warning, and we want to be able to react quickly. That's why Aura's plans have been designed to be as reactive as possible: You can cancel it for any reason at no extra cost and receive a full refund. You can even change things after you've paid for it, and you will only have to pay the difference if you upgrade, for instance by making an unattended ceremony into a partially or fully attended one; regardless, there will be no additional charge from our side for the admin. If you have questions about this, or you would like to amend or cancel an existing plan, we are happy to talk to you on the telephone whenever you're ready.
Assuming you've purchased one of our plans, the next step in the process is to pick one of your friends or family members to be your nominated representative. That person will step in and take charge of things once you've passed away, notifying us that it is time to put your plan into action. We'll be here for them as they navigate that difficult time, and we'll already have provided them with a helpful leaflet that explains everything they need to know ahead of time. We'll work together to arrange your ceremony, and it's our job to support them with the legal paperwork that will need to be done. We'll also support them with the arrangement of your ceremony if there are going to be guests.
You might know that Aura is family-run, but do you know our story? Aura was established by Paul Jameson back in 2019, following his 2017 motor neurone disease diagnosis. He created Aura as a gift for his family after he couldn't find anything out there that would let him set things up for his family his way. Today, Paul still supports his son Dave (our CEO) and a family friend, Ben, in the running of the company, instilling a caring ethos at the heart of all we do. It means we can genuinely say that the service we offer you comes from our family to yours.
