If you're looking for a way to gain control over the latter stages of your life, and of the organisation of your legacy, then a prepaid funeral plan could give you what you need. One of the best benefits available to you through a funeral plan is the sense of ownership it can give you in end-of-life planning. You can set down your wishes, making sure that the relevant people know exactly how you want your funeral to go, and you can pay it up in advance, allowing you to truly relax in the knowledge that it is all taken care of, with no loose ends to tie up. Your money is paid into a secure, independently managed trust, safe and ready to be used when the time comes. And you can lock in today's prices; even if your plan isn't needed for many years, the price you paid initially is all that will ever be needed to cover the costs. It's entirely up to you how you pay, whether in one go with a lump sum, or in instalments -- the prices are the same, regardless. If you'd like to gain this peace of mind for yourself, get in touch with us today and we can talk about your needs together. We'd be very pleased to receive your call.
Aura is proud to say that our funeral plans start at less than half of the average UK funeral cost found in the SunLife Cost of Dying Report 2024. Our starting price is £1,695, whereas the figure given by SunLife is £4,141. We know how much stress the cost of a funeral can add to family life, so we hope that this is welcome news. Furthermore, our plans are all-inclusive, which is not always the case with other providers. It means that there will be nothing left to pay for you or your family when the time comes for things like medical-device extraction prior to cremation, or for doctor's fees.
It's perfectly understandable to apprehensive about how flexible your funeral plan will allow you to be. It takes a long time to settle on the right option, so we want to know that, if we need to cancel or change things, we are not going to be penalised. The good news is that Aura's funeral plans allow exactly that: we won't charge you any extra for cancellations or changes; you'll only pay an additional amount if you upgrade your plan when you pay the difference. We can arrange a refund for you for any reason, you just need to let us know. If you'd like to find out more about our funeral plans or if you need to cancel or amend an existing plan, we'd be glad to help you over the phone.
Part of the process of buying a funeral plan from Aura is picking your responsible person. That person will likely be a trusted family member or friend of yours who can act as our point of contact when the time comes to activate your plan. We'll send them everything they need to know as soon as you let us know who they are, and we will be there for them once you've passed away. They'll be given a helpful document that explains all of the steps they need to go through so that your plan can snap into action seamlessly. It's our job to help them with the legal side of things, and, if you'll be having guests at your cremation, also with the logistics of funeral planning. Together, we'll make sure you have a ceremony that honours your personal wishes.
Aura is run today by our founder, Paul Jameson, his son, Dave (our CEO), and a family friend called Ben. We are proud of the fact that we are a family business, but also of our story. Paul founded Aura in 2019 following his diagnosis of motor neurone disease. He wanted to put things in place for his family so that they'd be prepared for when he is no longer here, but he couldn't find anything that would help him to do that his way. Aura is the result of his effort, and it means that, whether you're in Newcastle or anywhere else in mainland Britain, you'll always get the kind of service from us that Paul would expect for himself and his own family; it's in our DNA.
