If you have any questions, would like a brochure or simply would like a chat through our services, our award-winning team is here to help.
Unlike other providers, we won’t hassle you with constant calls. We’ll simply ensure you have the information you need and leave you to come to a decision in your own time. When you’re ready for us, our team will be ready to help.
It's important for us to feel like we have a sense of control over what happens when we die, and a prepaid funeral plan could be a good way of helping you achieve that. Many people can't bear the thought of others making big decisions about their funeral on their behalf, or of needing to step in and pay for it. A funeral plan lets you avoid exactly that, as you will be setting down your exact specifications, and paying for everything in advance. This gives you the gift of peace of mind, allowing you to live in serenity knowing that everything is taken care of. Your family will also benefit from this, as they will simply be free to grieve when the time comes, rather than stressing about finances or planning. When you buy a funeral plan you will be freezing things at today's prices, locking them in, meaning that that is all you will ever need to pay for your funeral, even if your plan won't be activated for many years. And you have the freedom to pay all in one go, or in instalments, as you prefer. If you'd like Aura's support in getting a funeral plan together, we'd be very glad to receive your call; we can discuss your options and help you understand what's right for you.
It might surprise you to learn that Aura's funeral plans are actually significantly cheaper than the UK average funeral cost. According to figures that you can find in the SunLife Cost of Dying Report 2024, the average funeral cost in the UK is thought to be £4,141, whereas our plans start at £1,695. We hope that this information is welcome, and relieves some of the worries around paying for things. Even more good news is the fact that our plans are all-inclusive, which means that the cost of extras often not covered by other providers, like urgent-collection fees or doctor's fees, is all part of the final price.
With an Aura funeral plan, you can cancel it for any reason at no extra cost and receive a full refund. You can even make as many changes as you see fit after your plan has been paid for, and you will only have to pay the difference if you upgrade, such as if you want to make an unattended ceremony into a partially or fully attended one. The bottom line is that there will be no penalty charge from our side for the admin on top of that. If you'd like to ask us anything more about this, or you would like to amend or cancel an existing plan, we'd be glad to speak to you on the phone whenever you're ready.
When someone passes away, it's normal that their loved ones could feel hurt and incapable of thinking clearly. We have a team of caring and empathetic people on hand to assist them, called the Angels. When you set up a funeral plan, you'll pick a friend or family member to act as your responsible person. We'll be here to help them when the time comes, and we will already have given them a helpful pack which explains everything they need to do when the time comes to activate your funeral plan. They'll let us know that you've passed away, and then the money you've set aside can be accessed to pay for your funeral. It's our job to help them with the legal paperwork and, of course, if there will be guests at your cremation, to help them organise the ceremony itself. In this way, we will make sure that your ceremony honours you on your terms.
At Aura, we are very proud of the fact that we are family-run. Our story is a special one: Aura was founded by Paul Jameson in 2019, two years after his motor-neurone-disease diagnosis. His experience with the disease led him to want to put things in place for his family so that they'd be prepared before his end, but he couldn't find anything that would let him do this his way; that's when he founded Aura. Today, he still supports his son, Dave (our CEO), and a family friend, Ben, with the running of the company. This experience has given us a strong commitment to a caring philosophy and allows us to say that the service we provide is exactly the kind of service that Paul himself would want, both for him and for his own family.
