A prepaid funeral plan could be an effective way of vesting you with a sense of control over the latter stages of your life and over your funeral ceremony. Many people can't abide the idea that big decisions about their funeral will be taken by others, and that's why they often end up buying a plan: it lets you set down your wishes for your funeral exactly as you'd like it to be, and pay for everything, ahead of time. Being well prepared in this way allows you to live the rest of your life with peace of mind that everything is settled and that everything will unfold just as you want. There are other advantages too: Aura's plans are all-inclusive, as we don't charge for things like urgent collection or doctor's fees, where other providers might. You will also be locking in today's funeral prices, meaning that even if your plan is not needed for a long time to come, the money you pay now will always be enough to afford your funeral. If you're keen to find out more about how we can help you put things in place, feel free to give us a call; we'd be very happy to help you.
At Aura, we are pleased to be able to say that, according to the SunLife Cost of Dying Report 2024, the average UK funeral plan costs more than twice as much as one of our funeral plans. Our starting price is £1,695, next to SunLife's reported figure of £4,141. Funeral costs rank as one of the things that can most bring worry into our personal lives when we find ourselves arranging one, so we hope that this news offers a bit of comfort. You might also be happy to read that the cost of our plans comes with everything included, and that's not always the case with other providers. You or your family will not need to pay any extra when it's time to put your plan into action for things like urgent collection or doctor's fees.
Aura's funeral plans can be cancelled for any reason at no extra cost to you; you will receive a full refund. Feel free to make as many changes as you wish, even after your plan has been paid for; you'll only need to cover the difference if you upgrade. That means that, if you change your mind and realise you'd like to make an unattended ceremony into a partially or fully attended one, you can easily do that, only needing to pay the difference in cost between the two plans. The bottom line is that there will be no penalty charge from our side for the admin on top of that. If you'd like to ask us any questions, or you need to change or cancel an existing plan, give us a call whenever works for you and we can sort it out for you.
It's perfectly understandable that, when you pass away, your loved ones could enter an emotionally charged state of mind, and they might struggle to think rationally. Our specially trained team of experts will be on hand to support them through that difficult time. An important part of the process of buying a funeral plan is selecting your nominated representative; a trusted friend or family member who can act in your place when the time comes. It's our job to support that person with everything they will need, and we will have already provided them with an essential guide that explains all the steps they need to take, starting with notifying us that you've passed away. We will guide them through the legal admin that will arise, and, if your cremation ceremony will have friends and family present, we will also help them to organise all of that. You can rest assured knowing that your wishes are in safe hands.
Something that guides us in our work is the fact that we are a family-run company. Compassionate service is in our DNA, and we have worked hard to cultivate it. Paul Jameson set up Aura in 2019, two years after he found out that he has motor neurone disease. Aura is a gift that he created and gave to his family after he couldn't find any options that would help him put things in place for them before his death. Today, Paul continues to support the running of the company alongside his son Dave (our CEO) and a family friend called Ben. All of this means that the service we offer you is the same quality of service that Paul would expect for his own family.
