Did you know that a prepaid funeral plan could give you a firm sense of control over the latter stages of your life, and of your legacy? It means that it could be a useful option for those who wouldn't want to have a funeral that has been decided by others, instead allowing them to set down exactly what they want to occur and to pay for things in advance. If you pass away without a plan, and without having spoken to anyone about your intentions, the burden of planning will fall on your family, but with a plan you can take care of it all yourself. There are also some financial advantages: You can lock in today's prices, as your money will be placed in a secure, independent trust, ready for use when the time comes, even if that isn't for many years. You can also pay it all in one go, or over instalments at no extra cost. If you'd like to learn more from us about how we can help, why not get in touch over the phone? We can help you to understand your options, and we'd be glad to hear from you.
At Aura, we see every day the impact of the anxiety that funeral costs can add to family life, even at the best of times. That said, we hope it is welcome news to learn that the starting price of our funeral plans could be less than half of the average cost of a funeral in the UK, according to the SunLife Cost of Dying Report 2024. Aura's plans begin at £1,695, with the UK average cost thought by SunLife to be £4,141, making a real impact. It might also be of interest to you that our plans include all relevant costs, with no shock fees for things like doctor's fees, or oversized coffins, meaning you can breathe a sigh of relief.
While it might take a lot of thought and effort to decide on which is the right funeral plan for you, we also want you to be able to back out or change your mind with ease, if that's what you need. That's why, with Aura, you can cancel or amend things without having to pay a penny extra; we won't penalise you for making either of those decisions, and you'll only need to pay the cost difference between plans if you are upgrading to a bigger one. Life can step in and force our hand from time to time, and we know that. If you'd like to learn more from us about this, or if you need to make changes to a plan you've already bought, please just give us a call and we can get that sorted for you.
Losing a loved one can make anyone become paralysed with grief and emotion, making it hard for them to think rationally or to feel normal. At Aura, we completely understand that, and we are ready to help. One of the most important parts of the process of buying a funeral plan is where you select a trusted friend or family member to take charge of things once you're gone. It's our role to support that person with all the help they might need and to be there for them. They'll have already received a handy guide from us explaining what steps they need to take, beginning with notifying us of your passing. Once they've done this, we'll activate your plan, using the money you've set aside to pay for everything. We will then coordinate with your responsible person, helping them with the legal paperwork that will arise, and, should there be guests at your cremation ceremony, we will also help them arrange things.
Aura came to be through the effort and vision of our founder, Paul Jameson after he was diagnosed with motor neurone disease. He wanted to create something that would let him organise his legacy, meaning that he could put things in place for his family ahead of his passing. It means that we have a more family-focused ethos at the heart of our work, and indeed, we are a family-run company. Today, Paul still supports his son, Dave (our CEO) and a family friend, Ben, in the running of our company. All of this means that you can trust us to provide you with quality customer care: it's in our DNA.
